Defense communications contractor Thales has launched Thales SHIELD (Strategic Homeland Intelligence and Electronic Deterrence). Thales SHIELD is a complete system that combines different areas from intelligence gathering and analysis, communications and network security, physical security to crisis management, to provide a fully integrated solution for nations, regions and institutions potentially vulnerable to intrusive security strikes or threats.
Thales SHIELD offers off-the-shelf, turnkey or fully customized components and systems to analyze risks, guard borders and airspace, protect critical civic and economic infrastructures and coordinate emergency response both nationally and internationally.
Recognizing the complex and confidential needs for either site, regional or national security, Thales is known for supplying clients with trusted hands-on technical and logistical support, operations management, project financing and consulting services.
“We have launched Thales SHIELD due to extraordinary customer demand in each of the countries in which we operate for a more integrated end-to-end solution to homeland security,” said Denis Ranque, Chairman and CEO of Thales Group.
“We have drawn from across our core competencies in defense, aerospace and information technology and our knowledge of major governmental and institutional clients to deliver the first of this kind of complete homeland security solution.”
“The Security market is a growing opportunity for Thales that leverages our dual-use and multi-domestic strategies,” said Tim Robinson, Senior Vice-President, Secure Operations.
“That is why we installed a Security Board which will drive our activities in this domain across all three business areas, from Defense, Aerospace to our civil activities in the IT&S area. We appointed Patrick Oszczeda Vice President, Security Board to pilot the implementation of Thales SHIELD worldwide.”
