Stratos, a leading global provider of remote communication solutions and services, announced today that it has launched StratosNet 2.0, the latest version of its highly popular StratosNet service for worldwide internet connectivity and e-mail access via satellite.
StratosNet 1.0 provided for e-mailing and internet browsing on Inmarsat, Iridium, and MSAT satellite systems for truly global functionality. StratosNet 2.0 improves upon the original service by offering improved performance over all data services, compression support for File Transfer Protocol (FTP), standard use of popular e-mail and web navigation tools, and Mobile Packet Data Services (MPDS) support on Inmarsat Fleet and GAN(M4) services.
StratosNet 2.0 is a perfect solution for those requiring reliable data communications and are unable to access traditional terrestrial networks – whether aboard an ocean-going vessel, on an offshore oil production platform, or in a remote underdeveloped land region.
“StratosNet 2.0 is the evolution of a Stratos service that is very popular among our customers, and offers much more flexibility and functionality for internet services in remote locations,” said Jim Parm, Stratos CEO. “This premier offering is very much in line with Stratos’ commitment to being the world’s best resource for remote communication services.”
