Micronetics announced Wednesday that it has received a development order to provide next-generation integrated microwave subsystems for use in IFE (In Flight Entertainment) and data communications worldwide.
This airborne microwave RF subsystem technology addresses the market for passenger communications, including the use of laptops and personal digital assistants. Opportunities such as this one represent a continuation for Micronetics of existing development and production accomplishments over the last two years for similar technologies.
In making the announcement, David Robbins, President and CEO, stated: “This order represents our ability to develop microwave subsystems by adapting existing defense airborne fire control radar technology, while utilizing the intellect and skills of several of our divisions. We are pleased to be part of this emerging marketplace.”
Micronetics, operating through its Defense Electronics and Commercial Products Groups, manufactures microwave and radio frequency (RF) components and integrated subassemblies used in a variety of defense, aerospace and commercial applications.
