iDirect Technologies has announced an agreement with Pronto Networks to incorporate the company’s Operations Support System (OSS) into its product offering to deliver last mile, wireless connectivity via satellite.
This agreement will make iDirect a preferred reseller of Pronto Networks’ solutions to the VSAT industry, and will allow new or existing iDirect customers to deploy and manage large-scale, public hotspot and hot zone networks.

Pronto Networks’ OSS software handles provisioning, configuration, authentication, access control, security, pre-paid and post-paid billing, and roaming settlement for large public WLAN networks.
The software platform offers service providers a cost-effective, end-to-end solution that will enable them to quickly enter the market, expand their footprint, and achieve a rapid ROI. Integrating this capability into iDirect enabled networks will greatly simplify the process and reduce the cost of deploying remote wireless broadband IP networks.

The addition of the Pronto OSS solution will allow iDirect satellite service providers to cost-effectively serve a broad number of users with a single satellite uplink/downlink to multiple hotspot locations as well as entire rural communities or ‘hot zones.’
Pronto’s WLAN solution can also help improve employee productivity in locations that already have satellite access, such as quick service restaurants, gas stations, and retail stores.
