DigitalGlobe announced Monday a partnership with Bird’s Eye Images to market and sell high-quality art prints of satellite imagery collected by QuickBird, the world’s highest resolution imaging satellite.

Exhibiting astonishing detail with rich colors and textures, the prints allow consumers to see a unique perspective of favorite locations around the world.

DigitalGlobe has agreed to give Bird’s Eye Images access to its ImageLibrary containing hundreds of thousands of satellite images from around the world, from which Bird’s Eye Images produces art prints on demand.

Prints from the Earth Up Close collection are shipped to customers by Fed Ex within 5-7 business days at a cost of US$39 for a 24×26-inch print or US$69 for a 36×38-inch print, plus shipping and handling. Customers simply visit the Bird’s Eye Images Web site, identify their prints of choice and place their secure orders using a credit card.

“Everyone has a favorite place in the world, whether it’s a special vacation spot, an alma mater, or a favorite sports venue,” said Steve Jennings, vice president of marketing for DigitalGlobe.

“Our partnership with Bird’s Eye Images lets people choose an image from hundreds of popular locations on Earth, and own an art-quality print of that place, at a very affordable cost.”
