China has developed its most advanced space robot for moon exploration. The public have a chance to have a close-up look at the robot in Beijing. Now, let’s take a closer look at this high-tech breakthrough.
For China, a fresh era of Moon exploration has come one small step closer. This robot, weighing in at just 35 kilos, is a heavyweight element in China’s moon project.
Professor of China PLA General Armament Department Feng Jianxiang said, “The robot is ensured of stability and safety. When the four wheels work together, the robot can turn around on the spot.
None of the American Mars rovers and other space robots has this special skill. And if one of its wheels breaks down, the other three can still function with no problem. “
This robot has three eyes for a wide-angle view of the lunar landscape. Experts say it is still a laboratory product and needs further tests before being sent to the moon.
Once there, the robot will be tasked with exploring the moon surface, where it will face huge temperature differences, radiation, steep slopes and rough terrain. But scientists expressed confidence in the ability of the little robot to help China make the giant leap to the moon.
