SAT Corp. said Monday it has delivered an additional MonicsNet Satellite Carrier Monitoring site to SES Astra, in an extension of the company’s existing MonicsNet network.
MonicsNet is a global system that provides automatic monitoring for signal interference for Astra’s carriers using SAT’s DSP technology; it conducts system monitoring in a fraction of the time of a classic spectrum analyzer.
In addition, MonicsNet algorithms automatically detect, characterize and display interfering signals and allow the results to be viewed at any time. Lineup of new carriers is made simple for the operators by simultaneously viewing co-pol and cross-pol carriers.
SAT said the latest MonicsNet site is being tailored to Astra’s special monitoring requirements.
SAT has provided similar systems to worldwide customers including SES Americom, New Skies Satellites, Shin Satellite, Loral Skynet, Hispasat, SATMEX, Hellasat and Japan SAT. Satellite communications providers using SAT equipment include Telefonica, Globecast, Helmerich & Payne, Inc., Northrop Grumman, Arrowhead and Harris.
