Raytheon Company will receive $35 million over ten years as part of the five-year $1.5 Billion Consolidated Space Operations contract awarded by NASA to LockMart in September.

As a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin Space Operations Co, Raytheon will provide operations analysis; data archiving, spacecraft systems, commercialization and privatization support; and, the infusion of commercial off-the-shelf technology.

Under the Consolidated Space Operations contract guidelines, NASA calls for implementing private sector commercial practices, products, services and technologies.

NASA expects to reduce overlap, eliminate duplication and increase efficiency by streamlining service delivery processes. The range of the contract’s services includes data acquisition from a spacecraft, data transmission to the end user, data processing and storage, ground and space communications and mission control center
operations.

The work will be performed at five NASA locations: the Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas; Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md; Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala; Kennedy Space Center, Fla; and, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.
