L-3 Communications has announced that its Henschel subsidiary received a $7.6 million base contract, including four option years valued at $30 million, from the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command.
L-3 Henschel will provide Data Acquisition Units (DAU) for four ships, a Land Based Emulation System (LBES) and a Great Lakes Training System, along with engineering services, provisioning and spare parts, in support of the CG-47 Ticonderoga Class Cruiser Integrated Ship Controls (ISC) Program.
The DAU provides the common interface for the wide range of data formats found in shipboard engineering and control systems. The DAU conditions and translates these varied formats to maximize the integration of these ship control functions.
