Integral Systems has announced that it has won the competition for the Air Force RAIDRS (Rapid Attack Identification Reporting System) Spiral 1 program.
The total contract value, including options, is approximately $123 million over a period of performance of five years.
As the prime contractor, Integral Systems will lead a team to produce a system that can detect interference with U.S. communications satellites, both military and commercial, and geolocate the source of the interference so that appropriate countermeasures can be taken.
Members of the team include Integral’s wholly-owned subsidiaries RT Logic, SAT, and Newpoint, as well as subcontractors IAI (Integrity Applications.), ITT Systems, Intelsat, Northrop-Grumman, Schafer and QinetiQs.
Steven R. Chamberlain, Integral’s Chairman and CEO, said, “This is the first program to use products from Integral and all of its subsidiaries in the same system.
The Air Force wanted a COTS solution and we were able to provide one that consists primarily of our own products.”
Gary Hall, RAIDRS Program Manager, added, “Integral is extremely proud to be selected as the Spiral 1 contractor. This program is the foundation for defensive counterspace and we are eager to engineer and deliver the infrastructure that will support the RAIDRS Program.”
Integral Systems has already been awarded a study contract for the second phase (Spiral 2) of the RAIDRS Program.
This study is a forerunner to a second large effort that the Air Force plans to put out for competitive bids in the future related to monitoring and protecting its space assets.
