American Farm Bureau, Inc., an affiliate of the American Farm Bureau Federation, and PrimeStar Inc., the nation’s second largest provider of mini-dish satellite television, announced Thursday an alliance to offer the country’s best value in satellite television entertainment to members of the nation’s largest general farm organization.

- Up to 160 channels of top programming
- The lowest cost per channel for consumers
- Equipment lease, and purchase options, plus professional installation
- And a free $30 pre-paid long-distance calling card from Farm Bureau

PrimeStar has established a private television channel for Farm Bureau
members and Farm Bureau corporate offices to use for communications and
information distribution. The company will also transmit Farm Bureau’s own Farm Bureau ACRES market information service, offering weather updates by county, information on futures and options, and individual state Farm Bureau reports.
The two companies will celebrate the introduction of PrimeStar offered by
Farm Bureau during the Aug. 1 running of the Winston Cup Brickyard 400 NASCAR race (ABC, 1 p.m. EDT) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. To commemorate the new alliance, PrimeStar and American Farm Bureau, Inc. have agreed to display the Farm Bureau national logo on the No. 16 PrimeStar Ford Taurus NASCAR race car driven by Ted Musgrave.
