Redondo Beach CA (SPX) Nov 30, 2006 Northrop Grumman has appointed Sonya Sepahban to lead the newly created Mission Excellence organization at its Space Technology sector. The organization combines Six Sigma, Safety and Mission Assurance, and Chief Engineer functions into one organization. "We brought these three organizations together under one umbrella in response to stepped-up demands for flawless execution across the board," said Alexis Livanos, president of the Space Technology sector. "Sonya's experience in engineering, program management and technology development makes her ideally suited to lead the sector on the next evolutionary step in its process-oriented journey." In this new position, Sepahban will be responsible for advancing the maturity and performance of the sector's processes, increasing the cross-functional focus on production reliability and quality, and the focus on customer deliverable products. The new organization will emphasize collaboration across the value stream to ensure mission success with stable, predictable processes to ensure flawless execution. In her previous position as vice president for Systems Engineering, Sepahban was responsible for end-to-end system engineering functions, which included the development and implementation of the sector's overall system engineering strategy and processes. Her previous leadership roles include vice president and deputy for Technology Development, and vice president and deputy general manager of Engineering.
