Subaru/Keck Telescopes Spot Largest Structure In The Universe

A team of astronomers using the Subaru and Keck telescopes on Mauna Kea has discovered a giant, three-dimensional filament of galaxies extending across 200 million light-years of space. The filament, which apparently formed only 2-billion years after the Big Bang, is the largest structure ever discovered. It is studded with more than 30 large concentrations of gas, each up to 10 times as massive as the Milky Way galaxy.

    Evidence Strong That It Rains On Titan

    NASA scientists said Thursday they have found strong evidence that liquid methane drizzles from the atmosphere of Titan onto the moon's surface. Data ESA's Huygens probe indicates there is a lower, barely visible, liquid methane-nitrogen cloud that drops rain to the surface of Titan, the team has reported.

    A big exercise is under way to recover the debris of the GSLV-F02 (Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle) from the Bay of Bengal off Sriharikota coast. Divers employed by the Department of Ocean Development (DoOD) have already recovered one of the strap-on motors of the GSLV-F02, which plunged into the sea on July 10.

    Russia has corrected orbit of the International Space Station by 1,350 meters (4,400 feet) as part of preparations for the docking of the U.S. space shuttle Atlantis, a Mission Control spokesman said Wednesday.     Massive CubeSat Launch Fails
