TeleCommunications Systems receives another $5 million for satellite systems sustainment by Ryan Maass Annapolis, Md. (UPI) Oct 21, 2015 TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. has received $5 million in incremental funding from the U.S. Army to sustain AN/TSC-198A SNAP and other systems. TeleCommunication Systems has received the funding to sustain SNAP, Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) and Non-classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point, and will also maintain Very Small Aperture Terminals. The latest contract brings total funded contract value to $23.6 million, potentially climbing to $91 million through September 2018 if all options are exercised. TCS SNAP VSAT systems provide the U.S. Army with multimedia communications capabilities, including encrypted voice, video and data. The systems are highly transportable and ruggedized, featuring a graphic user interface that can be tailored to the user's needs. TeleCommunication Systems provides secure deployable communication systems, location-based wireless infrastructure, engineered satellite-based services, and a number of other services. TeleCommunication Systems also provides operational support and engineering services for civilian emergency services, cybersecurity and defense platforms.
