In a significant step toward achieving a unified global communications network, Aalyria, in collaboration with the U.S. Government, the European Space Agency (ESA), and other partners, recently showcased a pioneering technology demonstration. This event, centered around the Hybrid Space Architecture (HSA) and Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) concepts, marked a pivotal moment in the integration of commercial and government communication assets across multiple domains.

The demonstration utilized Aalyria's Spacetime, a cutting-edge network orchestration software platform, to operate a comprehensive SATCOM network. This network spanned across secure Department of Defense (DoD) locations and multiple commercial providers, showcasing a remarkable feat of multi-vendor, multi-operator, and multi-orbit coordination.

Spacetime's capabilities were put to the test in a dynamic environment simulating real-world challenges, including satellite losses, jamming, and various outages. Impressively, the platform demonstrated its self-healing and adaptive nature by reallocating resources and restoring connectivity services promptly and efficiently.

One of the most compelling aspects of this demonstration was Spacetime's ability to seamlessly integrate and manage both first-party (government-owned) and third-party (commercial) satellite services. This unified approach to network management underscores the platform's potential to facilitate a cohesive and resilient global communication system, capable of withstanding and adapting to unforeseen disruptions.

The event, hosted at the U.S. Naval Research Lab (NRL) in Washington, D.C., was attended by a diverse group of over 150 individuals from more than 20 U.S. Government agencies and the DoD. This wide-ranging participation highlights the broad interest and potential applications of the demonstrated technologies in both civilian and defense sectors.

A key component of the demonstration involved the integration of assets from various partners, including NRL, ESA, and several commercial satellite operators like Comtech, Eutelsat OneWeb, Intelsat, and Viasat. This collaborative effort resulted in the creation of a software-defined mesh network comprising over 630 satellites and ground-based terminals across continents, a testament to the scalability and versatility of Aalyria's Spacetime platform.

The success of this demonstration, achieved in less than two months from conceptualization to execution, can be attributed to Spacetime's modular design and open-source APIs. This approach not only facilitated rapid integration across diverse network partners but also showcased the platform's adaptability and potential for future growth and innovation.

Chris Taylor, Aalyria's founder and CEO, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of this achievement, stating, "For the first time ever, Hybrid Space Architecture and CJADC2 capabilities have been demonstrated in all domains and orbits." This sentiment was echoed by Antonio Franchi, Head of the Space for 5G/6G and Sustainable Connectivity program line for ESA, who praised the collaborative effort and technological prowess displayed during the demonstration.

At the heart of Spacetime's innovation is its digital twin technology, which allows the platform to forecast and adapt to future network requirements. This predictive capability ensures optimal network performance, even in the face of challenges such as obstructions, varying data needs, and motion. The platform's extensive API integrations further enhance its versatility, enabling it to communicate with any hardware and operate across all orbits.

The demonstration's success not only showcases Aalyria's technological advancements but also signifies a major leap toward a future where secure, resilient, and low-latency communications can be maintained globally, irrespective of domain or orbit. As Aalyria continues to receive recognition and forge partnerships across the commercial and government sectors, the path toward a fully interoperable and unified networked capability appears more attainable than ever.
