Hannover, Germany (SPX) Mar 14, 2006 RFTrax and Identec Solutions have announced that the companies have partnered to combine Identec's RFID-based technology with RFTrax's innovative multimode sensory asset management solution. The integrated offering provides a dynamic asset management solution that enables companies to monitor and track assets throughout their entire journey from warehouse to shipping destination. This allows manufacturers, suppliers and carriers to gain broader visibility into cargo conditions such as temperature, shock, vibration, and container intrusion to take action before problems occur. Austrian-based Identec Solutions is a global provider of Intelligent Asset Management systems that use RFID to deliver real-time information on mobile resources -- vehicles, containers, racks, and other reusable transport materials -- to maximize control and value in all areas of the supply chain. RFTrax combines state-of-the-art technologies such as GPS, wireless communications, and business intelligence with a full array of sensors to ensure integrity, security and efficiency across all forms of freight transport. With RFTrax solutions, companies can set complex business rules for condition alerting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions, enabling them to predict and prevent problems before they can have a negative impact on business. "Our customers are looking for RFID technology with sensory capabilities," said Gerhard Schedler, CEO of Identec Solutions. "By integrating the unique RFTrax sensory technology platform into our products, we can provide intelligent data associated with assets in transit -- such as temperature, shock or vibration -- so that companies have greater visibility into the conditions surrounding and impacting their assets. This allows them to make critical supply chain decisions in real time based on a more complete view of what is happening to their assets during the journey." "We are pleased to team up with Identec, an established worldwide leader in asset management technology," said Hal Haygood, CEO of RFTrax. "By connecting our sensory technology to Identec's intelligent RFID tags, our customers can now track their assets at the pallete level, for example they can learn about the location of a railcar and what boxes are inside the railcar. The powerful combination of our technologies offers customers more detailed visibility into asset location and surrounding conditions, as well as end-to-end tracking capabilities."
