Harris delivering tactical radios to multiple customers by Richard Tomkins Rochester, N.Y. (UPI) Oct 12, 2015
Harris Corp. reports that it is to supply wideband tactical radios and support services to unidentified customers in three world regions. The contracts, received in the first quarter of the company's fiscal 2016, are worth a combined total of $66 million. Information on the specific models of wideband tactical radios to be delivered to the customers in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa was not disclosed. However, the company said the radios would come from its family of Falcon multi-band handheld, manpack, vehicular and airborne radio products. "Harris radio systems enable our customers to deploy robust, secure tactical communication networks," said Chris Young, president, Harris Communication Systems. "This contract reflects the continued confidence in Harris technology to provide superior situational awareness on battlefields around the world." No details as to delivery timelines were given.
