Baikonour, Kazakhstan (AFP) Jun 19, 2006 Kazakhstan's first telecommunications satellite was launched from Russia's Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan early Sunday in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev.
