The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp, has successfully launched three experimental satellites into space. The launch occurred on Saturday morning, marking another milestone in the development of space-based internet technologies.

These satellites, part of the Space-based Internet Technology Demonstrator series, were developed by the China Academy of Space Technology in Beijing. This series represents China's foray into an increasingly competitive sector of providing global internet connectivity through satellite constellations. The recent launch signifies the fourth installment in this series, following the inaugural deployment in July and subsequent launches in November and December.

The satellites achieved their designated orbit aboard a Long March 2C carrier rocket, which launched at 8:13 am from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in the Gobi Desert of northwestern China. The Long March 2C, a product of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, is notable for its impressive specifications. This rocket, measuring 43 meters in length and 3.35 meters in width, and weighing 242.5 metric tons at liftoff, is primarily utilized for deploying payloads to low-Earth and Sun-synchronous orbits.

Both the China Academy of Space Technology and the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology are subsidiaries under the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. This collaboration underscores the concerted effort of China's space sector in advancing their capabilities and expanding their influence in space exploration and satellite deployment.

This launch is not just a routine mission but also marks the culmination of China's ambitious space launch plan for the year 2023. It brings the total number of rocket launches conducted by the nation this year to 67, out of which 47 were executed using the Long March rocket family. This family of rockets has been the backbone of China's space endeavors, consistently playing a crucial role in their satellite deployment strategies.

An emerging trend observed in the Chinese space sector is the significant involvement of private rocket companies. This year, a remarkable total of 12 launches were conducted by these private entities, demonstrating a shift in the dynamics of China's space industry. This trend mirrors the global movement where private companies are playing increasingly prominent roles in space exploration and satellite deployment.
