Bright Ascension Ltd., a leading provider of space software technology, has announced the successful deployment of its software aboard the Czech Republic's largest satellite, TROLL. The satellite was launched on January 14, 2025, as part of the SpaceX Transporter 12 mission. This achievement underscores both the Czech Republic's growing prominence in space exploration and Bright Ascension's expertise in advancing space software technologies.

Developed by TRL Space, TROLL is a 6U CubeSat designed to showcase cutting-edge technologies in the commercial sector while building critical experience for the Czech space industry. The satellite's advanced payload includes an onboard data processing unit and a hyperspectral imager, capable of delivering valuable insights to industries such as agriculture, environmental monitoring, and defense.

Bright Ascension's software infrastructure is central to the satellite's operations, ensuring seamless execution of its core functions and enabling future technology demonstrations. The mission also leverages the company's mission control software, which is tightly integrated with onboard systems for streamlined and automated mission management.

"We are proud to support the launch of the TROLL satellite, a significant milestone for both TRL Space and the Czech Republic," said Peter Mendham, CEO of Bright Ascension. "The TROLL spacecraft yet again demonstrates our commitment to transforming the New Space sector through our innovative software solutions. Over time, we would be pleased to enhance the mission with upcoming products of our HELIX suite to offer seamless integration between the operational side and the commercial service delivery."
