AnythingWeather Communications has launched newly rebuilt weather website. The brand new website utilizes AnythingWeather's exclusive database technology that allows for real-time data collection, archival, dissemination, and on-line display for every weather station in the database. AnythingWeather's website currently collects data from more than 10,000 locations around the United States and the world. In addition to the standard NWS airport reporting sites, AnythingWeather collects data from city, county and state government weather networks, university-operated mesonets, television and radio station weather networks, and most importantly, personal weather stations (PWS). PWS owners are individuals and sometimes businesses that install weather sensors to collect data on their property. Many of these PWS data providers are weather spotters for the NWS and all of them have a strong interest in the local weather and its effects on their own microclimate. AnythingWeather works with most weather station hardware manufacturers and weather software developers - so it's simple to upload weather station data to AnythingWeather.com. Once the data feed is established, each weather station location receives a free comprehensive weather page on AnythingWeather.com. Each weather page features real-time weather conditions, 7-day historical archives, quick links to Doppler radar and satellite imagery, and live web camera views when available. For a nominal monthly fee, data providers can upgrade their custom weather website to include unlimited archival displays, exclusive sponsorship rights, and custom XML, RSS, or other real-time data and graphics feeds. "Our mission is to assemble and manage the largest weather database in the country," said Gregg Potter, President and CEO of AnythingWeather Communications. He adds, "Our database continues to grow each day with new weather reporting sites that nobody knew existed. We offer real-time weather feeds from these sites that fill many holes in the existing NWS weather network. In most cases, our data providers are interested in sharing their data with our clients and partners to further promote their location to the rest of the world." "In addition, we can help the Department of Homeland Security and the local NWS offices protect life and property by offering access to one of the largest real-time weather networks in the country."
