Comtech Telco Receives Satellite Modem Order In Excess Of $1M For The China Region Comtech Telecommunications has announced that its subsidiary, Comtech EF Data, received an order in excess of $1.0 million from ChinaSat Communications Group, a satellite operator. The order includes Comtech EF Data's flagship CDM-600 Satellite Modem. ChinaSat will deploy the CDM-600 Satellite Modems in a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network to support telephony services in rural areas throughout the region. The CDM-600 Satellite Modems will be configured with Comtech's patented bandwidth efficient Turbo Product Coding, an advanced forward error correction technique that provides superior performance. The advanced feature set offered in the satellite modems will also enable the operator to maximize bandwidth utilization and lower operating expenses. "This order is another example of our ability to provide products that are integral to cellular backhaul infrastructures around the world," said Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications.
