San Diego - May 21, 1998 - The Titan Corporation today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Linkabit Wireless, Inc., has received a $13.8 million order for Mini-DAMA UHF satellite communications terminals. While the entire order was placed by the Navy's San Diego-based Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Command, a significant percentage of the terminals will be provided to the naval forces of U.S. Allies around the world.
Gene W. Ray, Titan President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are
extremely pleased to know that this order for Mini-DAMA terminals will not
only provide critical, worldwide communications for U.S. naval forces, but
that it will have the direct effect of ensuring that same level of
communications interoperability between U.S. forces and our allies in the
United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany and Australia. We anticipate that other nations will follow suit in the near-term. Furthermore," added Ray, "this order further solidifies the backlog of Linkabit Wireless, our communications systems subsidiary."
