MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. Reports that the Company's Geographic Information Products Group has secured $1.8 million (CDN) in downlink agreement renewals with 4 international RADARSAT-1 clients.
The renewal agreements range in length from one to two years, and include options for further extensions. The renewal agreements are with the Korea Earth Observation Centre, Thailand's Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency, the Istanbul Technical University in Turkey, and an unnamed client.
MDA holds the exclusive international marketing rights to RADARSAT-1 data. A global network of RADARSAT-1 ground receiving stations allows the Company and its partners to provide unrivalled, near-real time satellite data delivery to its customers around the world.
Image data from the satellite is downlinked and processed at the nearest network station, rather than being stored onboard for future downlink over Canada.
