Herley Industries has announced that its Farmingdale, NY division has received a $1.2 million contract to supply complex integrated microwave assemblies for the United States Ballistic Missile Defense system.
John M. Kelley, Herley President, stated, "Herley Farmingdale has had an early and active role in the U.S. BMD program. Over the years, we have gained valuable technical experience and knowledge enabling us to expand our contribution and be a leader in product design for missile defense and related opportunities."
Kelley continued, "Products employing Farmingdale's proprietary phase shifting technologies are being supplied to major defense contractors on an increasing basis, as large phased array radars are deployed."

US Asks Japan For $545 Million For Missile Defense: Report

The US government has asked Japan to pay more than half a billion dollars for a joint missile defense system being developed that would be capable of warding off a possible attack by North Korea, but Tokyo finds the sum too high, a news report said Monday.
