![]() SINGAPORE (AFP) Oct 04, 2004 Singapore's Changi Airport announced Monday it will offer free Internet video conferencing for passengers in a move aimed at enhancing its reputation as one of the most modern aviation hubs in Asia. Thirty computers enabled with web cameras and audio systems have been hooked up to the Internet at Changi's Terminal two, the airport's operators said in a statement. "These allow travellers at Changi Airport to log on and conduct a video conference with their friends, families and even business associates all for free," it said. The new Internet hub at the airport, called iConnect, also has six Xbox game consoles for children, as well as a facility for travellers to use their laptops to plug into televisions shows. Changi has long been recognised as one of the most modern and efficient airports in Asia, and already has 200 free Internet terminals and pay-for-use wireless facilities.
