French information technology company Bull has established a subsidiary in Lithuania and is looking to expand its activities in all three Baltic states, the company reported Thursday.

"A company, Bull Baltija, established on the basis of representation in Lithuania, will operate in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia," Saulius Eiva, general manager of the company, said in a statement.

"Bull sees the Baltic states as its priority and falling in line with company's strategy to invest into new members of the EU."

The three Baltic states joined the European Union on May 1.

Bull Baltija is to concentrate its activities on public sector and banking, the statement said.

Bull last year posted a 40.7-million-euro (49.4-million-dollar) pre-tax profit on sales of 1.265 billion euros.
