![]() TAIPEI (AFP) Sep 06, 2004 Taiwan Vice President Annette Lu on Monday said the outlook for the island's nano-technology industry is positive, with output expected to be worth 300 billion Taiwan dollars (8.82 billion US) by 2008. Lu said some 800 local companies may get involved in research and development for nano-technology, noting that the government had vowed in 2002 to spend some 20 billion Taiwan dollars over six years to bolster the industry.
