Addvalue Communications Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Addvalue Technologies Ltd., publicly demonstrated the latest addition to the line of Inmarsat BGAN satellite terminals in Singapore last week during the CommunicAsia industry conference.

The sub-laptop sized Wideye SABRE 1 is the most economical BGAN satellite terminal on the market, the company said in a news release. It enables users to conduct simultaneous telephony and IP data communications. Its built-in user interface allows quick set-up and supports multiple data interfaces including Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB and RJ11.

Addvalue engineers currently are working with representatives of Inmarsat to complete testing and begin commercial sales of the new equipment in the coming weeks.

BGAN offers users high-speed IP-based broadband communications plus simultaneous voice calling via a portfolio of small, lightweight user terminals. The communications service from Telenor is useful for a variety of IP-based applications, such as streaming video, videoconferencing and Web browsing.

The service also allows businesses and organizations to extend networks to their remote operations sites. BGAN is the world's first mobile broadband IP service and is the latest addition to the Telenor portfolio of broadband-on-demand and value-added services, the news release said.

Earlier this year Telenor and Addvalue signed a strategic business agreement enabling the two companies to develop joint sales, marketing and engineering support services for Addvalue's BGAN-related offerings throughout Asia and globally, including bundling Telenor airtime with Addvalue equipment.

Telenor, an international provider of telecommunications, data and media communication services, is one of Norway's largest companies with 2005 revenues of approximately $10.1 billion and a workforce of 20,900.
