North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has met President Hu Jintao during his visit to China, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported from Beijing.
The agency, which did not cite sources, said the two met Wednesday evening before a dinner hosted for the visitors at the Great Hall of the People. It gave no details of what was discussed.
The North Korean leader is expected to meet Thursday with Premier Wen Jiabao and Deputy President Xi Jinping, Yonhap said.
Kim and Hu were expected to watch a Chinese opera performed by a North Korean troupe at 6 pm (1000 GMT), it added.
The North's leader earlier this week visited Dalian and Tianjin during his first visit to China for more than four years.
There is speculation he will offer to return to six-party nuclear disarmament talks hosted by Beijing in return for aid.
