Improving Operational Effectiveness Of Government Satcom Deployments
by Staff Writers
Fayetteville NC (SPX) Mar 10, 2010

Significant time, effort and resources are dedicated each year to the tracking, identification and elimination of satellite interference and By Light is excited about the opportunity to work with GVF to help mitigate future satellite interference in both the government and commercial industries.

Improved standards of operational effectiveness for U.S. Government agencies is being facilitated through delivery of training that enables high-performance deployments of satellite communications systems. The development arises in conjunction with increasing reliance upon VSAT-based solutions for communications worldwide.

By Light Professional IT Services (By Light) has teamed with the Global VSAT Forum (GVF) and SatProf to provide online and hands-on VSAT installation training for technicians in the U.S. military and other government agencies.

The VSAT Installation Training is part of a global program of GVF, the non-profit association of the satellite communications industry. The online curriculum development and course administration are provided by SatProf, a company dedicated to E-learning for Satellite Professionals.

The GVF training courses have been endorsed by the Satellite Users Interference Reduction Group (SUIRG), a global industry organization dedicated to stopping satellite radio frequency interference (RFI) before it begins.

By Light will provide the Hands-On Skills Test (HOST) at the By Light Integration Center (BIC) located in Fayetteville, NC. Arrangements can be made to provide the HOST to a group of students at a predetermined location. Students who complete GVF Advanced VSAT Installer Certification and any Specialty Certification may be posted in the GVF's Global VSAT Installers' Database.

Significant time, effort and resources are dedicated each year to the tracking, identification and elimination of satellite interference and By Light is excited about the opportunity to work with GVF to help mitigate future satellite interference in both the government and commercial industries.

"This training offers SATCOM operators and service personnel, civilian and military alike a chance to credential their existing skills and learn new ones that can advance them to the next level in their careers", said Keith Bodiford, Director of SATCOM Programs for By Light.
