Army taps BAE for new Bradley vehicles
by Stephen Feller
Washington (UPI) Jun 15, 2018

BAE Systems Land and Armaments has been awarded a contract for production of new Bradley vehicles, as well as procurement of spares and other equipment.

The award, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $347 million under a fixed-price-incentive-fee contract for production of two models of Bradley vehicle and parts for legacy vehicles, the Pentagon said.

BAE is being tapped for production of up to 473 Bradley M2A4 and M7A4 vehicles, as well as procurement of stockage list spares for the vehicles. BAE will also provide additional packages for legacy component repair using the M2A3, M7A3 and Operation Desert Storm-Situational Awareness vehicles as a baseline.

Work on the contract will be conducted in York, Penn., and is expected to be complete by June 14, 2019.

The Pentagon has obligated $132 million to BAE from fiscal 2017 and 2018 other procurement funds.
