Titan Wins Share of WMD Threat Reduction Contract
Titan Corp has been named as one of five companies to whom the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has awarded a share of a $1.26 billion task order-based contract to provide specialized engineering services. Under the contract, Titan will conduct innovative research to counter weapons of mass destruction (WMD), conduct consequence assessments and develop WMD defeat technologies. Weapons threats to be addressed in this contract include chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and large high explosive sources. This indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a ten-year term, including options. "This is another significant win for Titan, reinforcing decades of direct support for DTRA," said Gene Ray, Titan's chairman, president, and CEO. "It clearly demonstrates Titan's continued commitment to DTRA's mission, as well as Titan's unique technical and operational capabilities to support WMD effects modeling and simulation, weapons effects analysis, and critical event operational support." This newest award is in addition to two other recently announced DTRA awards to Titan that have a total potential value of $600 million where the company is tasked with providing specialized engineering services for the agency's Balanced Electromagnetics and Survivability and Infrastructure task order programs.
