![]() MOSCOW, Nov 30 (AFP) Nov 30, 2008 An unmanned Russian resupply vehicle on Sunday docked with the International Space Station (ISS) carrying cargo ranging from scientific equipment to birthday presents, the RIA Novosti news agency said. The Progress M-01M, the first Progress vehicle with upgraded computer facilities and a new onboard digital transmitting system, successfully docked with the ISS, the agency said. The vehicle, which blasted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on November 26, was carrying water, scientific equipment as well as personal effects and birthday presents for the ISS crew. Quoting its correspondent at the Russian space centre in Korolev outside Moscow, the agency said the docking was carried out manually, although the initial plan had been for an automatic operation.
