PARIS (AFP) May 26, 2003 The European Space Agency (ESA) said Monday it had overcome a vital hurdle for launching Galileo, a European satellite navigation system that will compete with the United States' GPS.
ESA member states finalised terms for the "Galileo Joint Undertaking," a legal vehicle that will be jointly set up by the agency and the European Union (EU), it said in a statement.
